Extruded solid rubber rod imports fell to X tons in 2022, shrinking by -8.6% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a pronounced increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 98% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, extruded solid rubber rod imports dropped to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Thailand (-1.1%), Indonesia (-6.1%) and Singapore (-16.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Vietnam (+35 p.p.) and Myanmar (+2.5 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Thailand (-4.8 p.p.), Indonesia (-10.3 p.p.) and Singapore (-23.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Vietnam ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported extruded solid rubber rods and profiles in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 55% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Indonesia ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Thailand, with an 11% share.

In Vietnam, extruded solid rubber rod imports increased at an average annual rate of +11.2% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Indonesia (-2.9% per year) and Thailand (-10.4% per year).
