From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Cambodia (with a CAGR of +46.7%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.
In value terms, the Philippines ($X) remains the largest ferro-cerium and pyrophoric alloys supplier in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 71% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Malaysia ($X), with a 19% share of total exports. It was followed by Singapore, with a 6.6% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in the Philippines amounted to +3.9%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Malaysia (-11.8% per year) and Singapore (-25.5% per year).

Thailand was the largest importer of ferro-cerium and pyrophoric alloys in South-Eastern Asia, with the volume of imports reaching X tons, which was approx. 51% of total imports in 2021. Malaysia (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Singapore (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 35% share of total imports. Vietnam (X tons), the Philippines (X tons), Indonesia (X tons) and Lao People's Democratic Republic (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to ferro-cerium and pyrophoric alloys imports into Thailand stood at -14.3%. At the same time, Vietnam (+17.7%) and Malaysia (+3.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of +17.7% from 2012-2021. The Philippines experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Lao People's Democratic Republic (-2.2%), Singapore (-11.3%) and Indonesia (-12.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines increased by +18, +4.1 and +2.1 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the Philippines ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported ferro-cerium and pyrophoric alloys in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 57% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Malaysia ($X), with a 24% share of total imports. It was followed by Indonesia, with a 9.5% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in the Philippines totaled +16.8%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Malaysia (+16.6% per year) and Indonesia (-8.5% per year).
Import Prices by Country
