Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, first-aid kit exports dropped sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 235% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. In 2022, purchases abroad of first-aid boxes and kits decreased by -25.8% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 135%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, first-aid kit imports declined sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 133%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, Malaysia (X tons), distantly followed by Singapore (X tons), the Philippines (X tons), Thailand (X tons) and Indonesia (X tons) were the main importers of first-aid boxes and kits, together creating 90% of total imports. Vietnam (X tons) and Myanmar (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Myanmar (with a CAGR of +63.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the import price increased by 6.9% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per ton), while Myanmar ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
