In value terms, goat hides and skins exports reduced to $X in 2021. In general, exports saw a mild shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 6.7% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Vietnam prevails in exports structure, resulting at X tons, which was near 85% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Indonesia (X tons), committing a 9% share of total exports. Myanmar (X tons) took a minor share of total exports.

Total imports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +27.6% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

At the same time, Cambodia (+115.7%) and Indonesia (+37.0%) displayed positive paces of growth.
