Grain Market Size in South-Eastern Asia

The Southeast Asian grain market contracted to $X in 2022, leveling off at the previous year. Overall, consumption, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, consumption reached the peak level of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the market failed to regain momentum.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, grain exports expanded significantly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports posted a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Exports by Country

Myanmar was the major exporting country with an export of about X tons, which amounted to X% of total exports. Vietnam (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Lao People's Democratic Republic (X%) and Indonesia (X%). Thailand (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to grain exports from Myanmar stood at X%. At the same time, Vietnam (X%) and Indonesia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022.
