As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2019, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, horse, mule and donkey meat exports amounted to $X in 2019. Overall, exports faced a significant contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 269% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2019, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2019, the export price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 122% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible setback. In 2022, after three years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of horse, mule and donkey meat, when their volume increased by 12% to X tons. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 1,493% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, horse, mule and donkey meat imports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, imports enjoyed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 2,370% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
