Malaysia represented the key exporting country with an export of about X tons, which accounted for 67% of total exports. Singapore (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Thailand (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 31% share of total exports.

Exports from Malaysia decreased at an average annual rate of -2.8% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Singapore (+8.6%) and Thailand (+2.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Singapore emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of +8.6% from 2012-2022. While the share of Singapore (+13 p.p.) and Thailand (+3.4 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Malaysia (-12.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, the largest hypochlorites, chlorites and hypobromites supplying countries in South-Eastern Asia were Singapore ($X), Malaysia ($X) and Thailand ($X), together comprising 96% of total exports.

Thailand, with a CAGR of +15.9%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

The export price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, waning by -10.3% against the previous year. Export price indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 76%. Imports in South-Eastern Asia

In 2022, overseas purchases of hypochlorites, commercial calcium hypochlorite, chlorites and hypobromites decreased by -18.1% to X tons, falling for the sixth year in a row after five years of growth. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 24% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, hypochlorites, chlorites and hypobromites imports dropped notably to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the last decade. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then contracted in the following year.
