The export price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, falling by -13.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 51% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit, and then dropped in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per unit), while the Philippines ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Overall, imports, however, recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 17%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, Singapore ($X), Indonesia ($X) and Malaysia ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together comprising 67% of total imports. Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 31%.

The Philippines, with a CAGR of +12.1%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 5.2% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the import price increased by 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($X per unit), while Thailand ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
