Exports by Country
Vietnam dominates exports structure, amounting to X units, which was approx. 90% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Thailand (X units), committing a 7.1% share of total exports.
Vietnam was also the fastest-growing in terms of the invalid carriages not mechanically propelled exports, with a CAGR of +65.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Thailand (+26.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Vietnam (+88 p.p.) and Thailand (+4.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Vietnam ($X) remains the largest invalid carriage supplier in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 87% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Thailand ($X), with a 9.3% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Vietnam totaled +57.6%.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 4.3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a noticeable decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 42% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per unit), while Vietnam totaled $X per unit.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (-2.9%).

Imports in South-Eastern Asia
Invalid carriage imports amounted to X units in 2022, surging by 7.7% compared with the year before. Overall, imports continue to indicate prominent growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 32% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
In value terms, invalid carriage imports reached $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 24%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
The purchases of the four major importers of invalid carriages not mechanically propelled, namely Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand, represented more than two-thirds of total import. Singapore (X units) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Indonesia (X units). All these countries together held approx. 16% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Singapore (with a CAGR of +17.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest invalid carriage importing markets in South-Eastern Asia were Malaysia ($X), Vietnam ($X) and Indonesia ($X), together accounting for 56% of total imports.
Among the main importing countries, Indonesia, with a CAGR of +16.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, growing by 2.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 7%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($X per unit), while the Philippines ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
