The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 19% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Indonesia (X tons) represented the major importer of lime, comprising 42% of total imports. In 2021, the import price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 18% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($X per ton), while Lao People's Democratic Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
