In Malaysia, metal office furniture exports shrank by an average annual rate of -2.5% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Singapore (+0.1% per year) and Indonesia (+12.0% per year).

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the import price increased by 13% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per ton), while Cambodia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
