Malaysia dominates exports structure, finishing at X units, which was approx. 77% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Vietnam (X units), comprising a 9.4% share of total exports. Singapore (X units), Thailand (X units), Indonesia (X units) and the Philippines (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to microphone exports from Malaysia stood at +4.6%. At the same time, Vietnam (+16.0%) and Thailand (+6.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of +16.0% from 2012-2022. In value terms, Malaysia ($X) remains the largest microphone supplier in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 79% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Singapore ($X), with an 8.7% share of total exports. It was followed by Vietnam, with an 8.1% share.

In Malaysia, microphone exports increased at an average annual rate of +11.0% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Singapore (+6.3% per year) and Vietnam (+17.0% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, picking up by 4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the export price increased by 27%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per unit), while Indonesia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Philippines (+18.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in South-Eastern Asia

In 2022, imports of microphones and their stands in South-Eastern Asia rose notably to X units, growing by 6.1% compared with the previous year. Overall, imports recorded a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 55% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, microphone imports reduced to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a prominent expansion.
