It was distantly followed by Vietnam (X tons), Singapore (X tons) and Indonesia (X tons), together mixing up a 23% share of total exports. The Philippines (X tons) took a relatively small share of total exports.

Exports from Thailand increased at an average annual rate of +20.2% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Indonesia (+39.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Indonesia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of +39.9% from 2012-2022. By contrast, the Philippines (-3.3%), Vietnam (-3.9%) and Singapore (-13.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Thailand (+58 p.p.) and Indonesia (+5.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of the Philippines (-2.1 p.p.), Vietnam (-10.5 p.p.) and Singapore (-37.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Thailand ($X) remains the largest orange juice (single strength) supplier in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 72% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Vietnam ($X), with a 10% share of total exports. It was followed by Singapore, with an 8% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Thailand amounted to +19.3%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Vietnam (-1.6% per year) and Singapore (-12.1% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by 4.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 26% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, the amount of orange juice (single strength) imported in South-Eastern Asia totaled X tons, leveling off at the year before. In general, imports, however, showed a noticeable slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 24%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, orange juice (single strength) imports totaled $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a perceptible shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 33%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Singapore represented the major importer of orange juice (single strength) in South-Eastern Asia, with the volume of imports finishing at X tons, which was near 36% of total imports in 2022. Lao People's Democratic Republic (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 20% share, followed by the Philippines (10%), Cambodia (8.2%), Malaysia (7.5%) and Myanmar (5.8%). Vietnam (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Lao People's Democratic Republic (with a CAGR of +29.4%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Singapore ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported orange juice (single strength) in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 44% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Lao People's Democratic Republic ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by the Philippines, with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Singapore amounted to -6.4%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Lao People's Democratic Republic (+30.2% per year) and the Philippines (+27.2% per year).
