In value terms, the largest permanent magnet supplying countries in South-Eastern Asia were the Philippines ($X), Malaysia ($X) and Vietnam ($X), together comprising 81% of total exports.

Vietnam, with a CAGR of +28.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the export price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 19% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a noticeable shrinkage. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In terms of the main importing countries, the Philippines, with a CAGR of +50.3%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the import price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 18% against the previous year. Import price indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, permanent magnet import price increased by +55.3% against 2017 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
