In 2021, shipments abroad of plastic parts for lamps and lighting fittings increased by 31% to X tons, rising for the third consecutive year after two years of decline. Overall, exports continue to indicate pronounced growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 52% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, lamp plastic parts exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, exports posted strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 96%. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Exports by Country
The biggest shipments were from Singapore (X tons), Vietnam (X tons), the Philippines (X tons) and Thailand (X tons), together recording 86% of total export. It was distantly followed by Malaysia (X tons), committing a 10% share of total exports. Indonesia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by the Philippines (with a CAGR of +163.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the Philippines ($X), Singapore ($X) and Vietnam ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, together accounting for 79% of total exports.
In terms of the main exporting countries, the Philippines, with a CAGR of +150.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per ton, shrinking by -2.5% against the previous year. Export price indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +8.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, lamp plastic parts export price increased by +9.3% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 30%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2020, and then declined slightly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($X per ton), while Indonesia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in South-Eastern Asia
In 2021, the amount of plastic parts for lamps and lighting fittings imported in South-Eastern Asia soared to X tons, rising by 88% compared with 2020. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a slight expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, lamp plastic parts imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports saw a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 62% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Thailand represented the major importer of plastic parts for lamps and lighting fittings in South-Eastern Asia, with the volume of imports resulting at X tons, which was approx. 47% of total imports in 2021. Indonesia (X tons) held a 25% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Malaysia (11%), Vietnam (8%) and Singapore (5.8%).

Import Prices by Country
The import price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, declining by -14.7% against the previous year. Import price indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, lamp plastic parts import price decreased by -40.7% against 2016 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 87%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
