The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 29%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

In value terms, polyacetals exports surged to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -7.6% against 2018 indices. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Total imports indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 30% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

It was distantly followed by the Philippines (X tons), making up a 7.8% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by the Philippines (with a CAGR of +24.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Vietnam ($X), Thailand ($X) and Malaysia ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together comprising 65% of total imports. Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 35%.

The import price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a slight reduction. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($X per ton), while Singapore ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
