Total exports indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +56.1% against 2020 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, Singapore (X tons) represented the key exporter of polymethyl methacrylate in primary forms, generating 67% of total exports. In value terms, Singapore ($X) remains the largest polymethyl methacrylate supplier in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 83% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Malaysia ($X), with an 8.9% share of total exports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 4.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Singapore totaled +3.7%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Malaysia (+8.0% per year) and Thailand (-1.4% per year).

The export price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the export price increased by 36%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
