In 2022, the export price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per ton, surging by 6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a slight curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the export price increased by 14% against the previous year. Printing and writing paper imports reduced markedly to X tons in 2022, waning by -26% against the year before. Overall, imports saw a noticeable shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 17%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, printing and writing paper imports shrank to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a slight reduction. Vietnam (X tons), Malaysia (X tons), Thailand (X tons), Indonesia (X tons), the Philippines (X tons) and Singapore (X tons) represented roughly 93% of total imports in 2022. Myanmar (X tons) held a relatively small share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Myanmar (with a CAGR of +12.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest printing and writing paper importing markets in South-Eastern Asia were Vietnam ($X), Malaysia ($X) and Thailand ($X), with a combined 59% share of total imports. The Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore and Myanmar lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 39%.
Myanmar, with a CAGR of +12.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per ton, rising by 18% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in the Philippines ($X per ton) and Myanmar ($X per ton), while Vietnam ($X per ton) and Thailand ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
