In 2022, Singapore (X tons), distantly followed by Indonesia (X tons), Malaysia (X tons), the Philippines (X tons) and Thailand (X tons) were the key exporters of printing ink, together making up 97% of total exports. Vietnam (X tons) took a minor share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Vietnam (with a CAGR of +23.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Singapore ($X) remains the largest printing ink supplier in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 53% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Indonesia ($X), with a 17% share of total exports. It was followed by the Philippines, with a 14% share.
In Singapore, printing ink exports expanded at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Indonesia (+12.6% per year) and the Philippines (+1.4% per year).

The export price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, remaining stable against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a perceptible setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 11%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 9.9%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country
The purchases of the six major importers of printing ink, namely Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines, represented more than two-thirds of total import. It was distantly followed by Myanmar (X tons), committing a 4.9% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Myanmar (with a CAGR of +4.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest printing ink importing markets in South-Eastern Asia were Thailand ($X), Indonesia ($X) and Malaysia ($X), together comprising 55% of total imports. Vietnam, Singapore, the Philippines and Myanmar lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 44%.
The Philippines, with a CAGR of +8.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, which is down by -8.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the import price increased by 8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2021, and then declined in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per ton), while Myanmar ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
