In 2021, the Southeast Asian liquid dispensing pump market increased by 15% to $X, rising for the third year in a row after two years of decline. Over the period under review, consumption continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, liquid dispensing pump exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, recorded a pronounced slump. The level of export peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Thailand represented the key exporting country with an export of about X units, which finished at 58% of total exports. Singapore (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Malaysia (X units), Indonesia (X units) and Vietnam (X units). All these countries together held near 41% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to liquid dispensing pump exports from Thailand stood at -9.1%. At the same time, Vietnam (+23.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of +23.9% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Malaysia (-1.4%), Singapore (-2.6%) and Indonesia (-36.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In Singapore, liquid dispensing pump exports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Thailand (-9.3% per year) and Malaysia (-12.9% per year).

In 2021, the export price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per unit, growing by 8.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 192%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The volume of import peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, Indonesia (X units) represented the largest importer of pumps for dispensing liquids, mixing up 43% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Thailand (X units), Vietnam (X units) and Singapore (X units), together making up a 45% share of total imports. The following importers - Malaysia (X units) and Myanmar (X units) - each finished at a 9% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Myanmar (with a CAGR of +4.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

In value terms, Singapore ($X), Thailand ($X) and Vietnam ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 64% share of total imports. Indonesia, Malaysia and Myanmar lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 27%.

Among the main importing countries, Myanmar, with a CAGR of +11.3%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 9% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +5.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 22%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per unit), while Indonesia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Myanmar (+6.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
