The following exporters - Thailand (X cubic meters) and Indonesia (X cubic meters) - together made up 5.3% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to rare gases exports from Singapore stood at +14.3%. At the same time, Malaysia (+35.1%) and Indonesia (+5.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, Singapore ($X) remains the largest rare gases supplier in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 93% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Malaysia ($X), with a 4.6% share of total exports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 1.6% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Singapore amounted to +18.0%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Malaysia (+36.9% per year) and Thailand (+30.6% per year).

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 59% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X cubic meters in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, rare gases imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw buoyant growth. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

Indonesia (X cubic meters) and Singapore (X cubic meters) dominates imports structure, together generating 78% of total imports. Thailand (X cubic meters) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 9.5% share, followed by the Philippines (6.8%). Malaysia (X cubic meters) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Thailand (with a CAGR of +10.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Singapore ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported rare gases (excluding argon) in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 76% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Philippines ($X), with a 7.6% share of total imports. It was followed by Malaysia, with a 6% share.
