In value terms, Thailand ($X) emerged as the largest sheet piling supplier in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 59% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Vietnam ($X), with a 16% share of total exports. It was followed by Singapore, with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Thailand amounted to +4.6%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Vietnam (+19.2% per year) and Singapore (-19.1% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per ton, rising by 19% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a perceptible decline. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Overall, imports showed a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 52%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, sheet piling imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports posted a buoyant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 67% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. The Philippines was the key importer of sheet piling, shapes and sections (of iron or steel) in South-Eastern Asia, with the volume of imports recording X tons, which was near 72% of total imports in 2021. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the Philippines ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported sheet piling, shapes and sections (of iron or steel) in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 67% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Vietnam ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Singapore, with a 7.4% share.

In the Philippines, sheet piling imports expanded at an average annual rate of +41.1% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Vietnam (+14.7% per year) and Singapore (-8.2% per year).
