In value terms, ship propeller imports surged to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, the Philippines (X tons) represented the key importer of ships’ or boats’ propellers and blades therefor, creating 58% of total imports. Vietnam (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 14% share, followed by Singapore (12%), Indonesia (7.4%) and Malaysia (5.3%).
The Philippines was also the fastest-growing in terms of the ships’ or boats’ propellers and blades therefor imports, with a CAGR of +20.0% from 2012 to 2022. In terms of the main importing countries, the Philippines, with a CAGR of +14.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 9.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the import price increased by 31%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
