Malaysia represented the major exporting country with an export of about X tons, which reached 39% of total exports. Thailand (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 20% share, followed by Singapore (18%), Indonesia (12%) and Vietnam (8.6%). The Philippines (X tons) took a little share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by the Philippines (with a CAGR of +35.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest technical textiles supplying countries in South-Eastern Asia were Singapore ($X), Thailand ($X) and Malaysia ($X), together comprising 79% of total exports. These countries were followed by Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines, which together accounted for a further 21%.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +78.5% against 2016 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 16%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

In 2021, the Philippines (X tons), distantly followed by Indonesia (X tons), Thailand (X tons), Malaysia (X tons), Vietnam (X tons) and Singapore (X tons) represented the largest importers of textile products and articles for technical uses, together mixing up 97% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the Philippines (with a CAGR of +18.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest technical textiles importing markets in South-Eastern Asia were Thailand ($X), Vietnam ($X) and Indonesia ($X), with a combined 59% share of total imports.
Among the main importing countries, Vietnam, with a CAGR of +7.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
