Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -6.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a slight downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 12%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per ton), while Malaysia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Total imports indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +51.9% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 37% against the previous year. The import price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -4.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the import price increased by 14% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per ton), while Thailand ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
