In value terms, video monitor production shrank to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, recorded a strong increase. Video monitor exports fell rapidly to X units in 2021, waning by -17.9% compared with 2020 figures. Overall, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Export price indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, video monitor export price increased by +83.2% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 58% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($X per unit), while Indonesia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, the amount of video monitors imported in South-Eastern Asia soared to X units, jumping by 41% against the previous year. In general, imports continue to indicate prominent growth. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, video monitor imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Thailand was the main importing country with an import of about X units, which accounted for 35% of total imports. The Philippines (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 16% share, followed by Malaysia (14%), Vietnam (13%), Singapore (11%) and Indonesia (10%).

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to video monitor imports into Thailand stood at +11.6%. In value terms, the largest video monitor importing markets in South-Eastern Asia were Thailand ($X), Singapore ($X) and Malaysia ($X), with a combined 72% share of total imports. Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 28%.

Indonesia, with a CAGR of +7.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per unit, shrinking by -3.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a pronounced setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 22%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per unit), while the Philippines ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
