From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Myanmar (with a CAGR of +157.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Vietnam ($X), Cambodia ($X) and Indonesia ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 91% share of total exports. Myanmar, Thailand and Singapore lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 7.5%.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Myanmar, with a CAGR of +147.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per unit, surging by 7.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($X per unit), while Myanmar ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Malaysia (X units), Cambodia (X units) and the Philippines (X units) held a relatively small share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to women knitwear imports into Vietnam stood at -11.1%. The second position in the ranking was taken by Indonesia ($X), with a 20% share of total imports. It was followed by Singapore, with a 16% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Vietnam totaled -12.3%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Indonesia (+27.4% per year) and Singapore (+0.2% per year).
