In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in the Southeast Asian x-ray tube market, when its value increased by 21% to $X. Over the period under review, consumption, however, saw a mild downturn. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Total imports indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -28.0% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 36% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, x-ray tube imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -10.6% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 33% against the previous year. Singapore prevails in imports structure, amounting to X units, which was approx. 75% of total imports in 2021. Malaysia (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Thailand (X units) and Indonesia (X units). All these countries together held approx. 19% share of total imports. The following importers - Vietnam (X units) and the Philippines (X units) - together made up 6.1% of total imports.

Imports into Singapore increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Indonesia (+19.5%), Vietnam (+8.6%), Thailand (+5.7%), Malaysia (+2.2%) and the Philippines (+1.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Indonesia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of +19.5% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Indonesia increased by +3.4 percentage points. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
