In 2021, the South Asian antimony ore and concentrate market was finally on the rise to reach $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. India dominates exports structure, amounting to X tons, which was near 97% of total exports in 2021. Pakistan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

India was also the fastest-growing in terms of the antimony ores and concentrates exports, with a CAGR of +23.8% from 2012 to 2021. Pakistan (-27.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. India (+73 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Pakistan saw its share reduced by -73.3% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.

Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 70%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, antimony ore and concentrate imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports recorded a pronounced slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 66%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
