The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Sri Lanka (X tons) represented the main exporter of concentrated pineapple juice, achieving 80% of total exports. India (X tons) took a 12% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Bangladesh (5.6%). Pakistan (X tons) held a little share of total exports.

Sri Lanka was also the fastest-growing in terms of the concentrated pineapple juice exports, with a CAGR of +36.0% from 2012 to 2022. Pakistan represented the major importing country with an import of about X tons, which accounted for 39% of total imports. It was distantly followed by India (X tons), Maldives (X tons), Sri Lanka (X tons) and Afghanistan (X tons), together making up a 60% share of total imports.

Imports into Pakistan increased at an average annual rate of +13.7% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Sri Lanka (+30.0%) and Maldives (+5.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Sri Lanka emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Southern Asia, with a CAGR of +30.0% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Afghanistan (-5.0%) and India (-10.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Pakistan (+28 p.p.), Sri Lanka (+14 p.p.) and Maldives (+7.4 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Afghanistan (-6.8 p.p.) and India (-33.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, the largest concentrated pineapple juice importing markets in Southern Asia were Pakistan ($X), India ($X) and Sri Lanka ($X), with a combined 80% share of total imports.

Sri Lanka, with a CAGR of +35.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
