In value terms, India ($X) remains the largest electronic chip supplier in Southern Asia, comprising 98% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Sri Lanka ($X), with a 1.9% share of total exports.

In India, electronic chip exports expanded at an average annual rate of +27.0% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Sri Lanka (+19.8% per year) and Pakistan (+40.5% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Southern Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, stabilizing at the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 25% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

India was also the fastest-growing in terms of the electronic chips imports, with a CAGR of +10.6% from 2012 to 2021. The shares of the largest importers remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, India ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported electronic chips in Southern Asia.
