The volume of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Overall, imports, however, recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 190% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of attained the peak figure at X units in 2020, and then declined in the following year.

In value terms, imports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments shrank rapidly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 447%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.

Bangladesh, with a CAGR of +39.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Southern Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, falling by -62% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 119%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
