Total exports indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

India represented the largest exporter of glues based on starches, dextrins or other modified starches in Southern Asia, with the volume of exports resulting at X tons, which was approx. 67% of total exports in 2021. Sri Lanka (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 19% share, followed by Afghanistan (13%).

In value terms, India ($X) remains the largest starch glue supplier in Southern Asia, comprising 65% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Sri Lanka ($X), with a 22% share of total exports.
In India, starch glue exports expanded at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Sri Lanka (+4.2% per year) and Afghanistan (-11.2% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Southern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, with a decrease of -8.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced contraction. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate prominent growth. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, starch glue imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, India (X tons) was the key importer of glues based on starches, dextrins or other modified starches, creating 65% of total imports. Bangladesh (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Pakistan (X tons) and Nepal (X tons). All these countries together held near 34% share of total imports.
India was also the fastest-growing in terms of the glues based on starches, dextrins or other modified starches imports, with a CAGR of +15.4% from 2012 to 2021. The second position in the ranking was held by Bangladesh ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Pakistan, with a 13% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in India totaled +10.0%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Bangladesh (-8.8% per year) and Pakistan (+1.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
