India represented the key exporting country with an export of around X units, which reached 69% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Pakistan (X units), achieving a 30% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to industrial robot exports from India stood at +17.0%. At the same time, Pakistan (+40.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Pakistan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Southern Asia, with a CAGR of +40.5% from 2012-2021. While the share of Pakistan (+23 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of India (-21.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, India ($X) remains the largest industrial robot supplier in Southern Asia, comprising 99% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Pakistan ($X), with a 0.6% share of total exports.
In India, industrial robot exports increased at an average annual rate of +27.7% over the period from 2012-2021.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Southern Asia amounted to $X per unit, growing by 79% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when the export price increased by 242%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2020 to 2021, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was India ($X per unit), while Pakistan totaled $X per unit.

In 2021, overseas purchases of industrial robots for multiple uses were finally on the rise to reach X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, industrial robot imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed pronounced growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 93%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
India represented the largest importer of industrial robots for multiple uses in Southern Asia, with the volume of imports resulting at X units, which was near 85% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Nepal (X units), achieving an 11% share of total imports. Bangladesh (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Imports into India increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Nepal (+107.7%) and Bangladesh (+71.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Nepal emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Southern Asia, with a CAGR of +107.7% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Nepal and Bangladesh increased by +11 and +1.9 percentage points, respectively.
In value terms, India ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported industrial robots for multiple uses in Southern Asia, comprising 93% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Bangladesh ($X), with a 2.2% share of total imports.
In India, industrial robot imports increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Bangladesh (+64.9% per year) and Nepal (+75.0% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Southern Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, reducing by -7.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 21% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
