Imports in Southern Asia
In 2022, the amount of lettuce and chicory imported in Southern Asia rose significantly to X tons, surging by 12% on the previous year. Over the period under review, imports recorded a measured expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 507% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
In value terms, lettuce and chicory imports reduced to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a noticeable shrinkage.
