Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, non-electric roasting furnace imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a mild contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 72% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

India was the key importer of non-electric furnaces and ovens for the roasting or melting in Southern Asia, with the volume of imports reaching X units, which was approx. 47% of total imports in 2022. Pakistan (X units) held a 28% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Sri Lanka (16%) and Nepal (4.7%). Bangladesh (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
