In value terms, India ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported pears in Southern Asia, comprising 91% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Nepal ($X), with a 4.6% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in India stood at +13.2%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Nepal (+39.9% per year) and Maldives (+31.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Southern Asia amounted to $X per ton, declining by -5.4% against the previous year. Import price indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +11.7% over the last nine years.
