Pakistan (X units) held a 9.9% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Maldives (6.6%). The following importers - Bangladesh (X units), Nepal (X units) and Bhutan (X units) - each accounted for a 5.6% share of total imports.

Imports into India increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Pakistan (+24.4%), Nepal (+18.8%), Bhutan (+18.6%), Bangladesh (+16.9%) and Maldives (+13.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Pakistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Southern Asia, with a CAGR of +24.4% from 2012-2022. Pakistan (+8.3 p.p.), Maldives (+4 p.p.) and Bangladesh (+1.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, India ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported plastic doors, windows and their frames in Southern Asia, comprising 64% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Pakistan ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Maldives, with an 8.8% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in India was relatively modest. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Pakistan (+28.3% per year) and Maldives (+12.1% per year).
