From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
India was the key exporter of plastic doors, windows and their frames in Southern Asia, with the volume of exports recording X units, which was approx. 70% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Bangladesh (X units), comprising a 30% share of total exports.

In 2022, the export price in Southern Asia amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 4.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 73%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was India ($X per unit), while Bangladesh totaled $X per unit.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bangladesh (-1.4%).

Imports in Southern Asia
Plastic doors and windows imports declined sharply to X units in 2022, which is down by -26.7% on the previous year's figure. Total imports indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +1.2% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 56%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, plastic doors and windows imports contracted significantly to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +22.5% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 55%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.
Imports by Country
India prevails in imports structure, finishing at X units, which was near 78% of total imports in 2022. Pakistan (X units) held a 9.9% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Maldives (6.6%). The following importers - Bangladesh (X units), Nepal (X units) and Bhutan (X units) - each accounted for a 5.6% share of total imports.
Imports into India increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Pakistan (+24.4%), Nepal (+18.8%), Bhutan (+18.6%), Bangladesh (+16.9%) and Maldives (+13.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Pakistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Southern Asia, with a CAGR of +24.4% from 2012-2022. Pakistan (+8.3 p.p.), Maldives (+4 p.p.) and Bangladesh (+1.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, India ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported plastic doors, windows and their frames in Southern Asia, comprising 64% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Pakistan ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Maldives, with an 8.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in India was relatively modest. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Pakistan (+28.3% per year) and Maldives (+12.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Southern Asia amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 7.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a slight slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 23%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Bangladesh ($X per unit), while India ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bhutan (+9.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
