In 2021, overseas shipments of plastic parts for lamps and lighting fittings increased by 29% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after three years of decline. India was the major exporting country with an export of around X tons, which reached 65% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Pakistan (X tons), achieving a 35% share of total exports.

After two years of decline, purchases abroad of plastic parts for lamps and lighting fittings increased by 21% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 89% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, lamp plastic parts imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports posted a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 74%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
