The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 37%. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, motor vehicle radiator exports declined slightly to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +46.1% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 49%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced in the following year.

India prevails in exports structure, recording X units, which was near 98% of total exports in 2022. Pakistan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

India was also the fastest-growing in terms of the radiators for motor vehicles exports, with a CAGR of +2.4% from 2012 to 2022. Pakistan (-6.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of India (+2.4 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Pakistan (-2.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In 2022, the amount of radiators for motor vehicles imported in Southern Asia declined dramatically to X units, reducing by -23.4% against 2021. Total imports indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +54.8% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 102% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units, and then contracted sharply in the following year.

Imports by Country

India represented the major importer of radiators for motor vehicles in Southern Asia, with the volume of imports amounting to X units, which was near 70% of total imports in 2022. Bangladesh (X units) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Pakistan (X units). All these countries together held near 22% share of total imports. The following importers - Sri Lanka (X units) and Afghanistan (X units) - together made up 6.9% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to motor vehicle radiator imports into India stood at +2.6%. At the same time, Pakistan (+7.5%) and Sri Lanka (+4.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Pakistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Southern Asia, with a CAGR of +7.5% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Afghanistan (-1.6%) and Bangladesh (-3.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
