The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

India was the key importer of screwdrivers in Southern Asia, with the volume of imports accounting for X tons, which was approx. 56% of total imports in 2021. Pakistan (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 21% share, followed by Bangladesh (15%) and Sri Lanka (5.5%).

In value terms, India ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported screwdrivers in Southern Asia, comprising 46% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Bangladesh ($X), with a 21% share of total imports. It was followed by Pakistan, with a 15% share.

In India, screwdriver imports increased at an average annual rate of +6.9% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Bangladesh (+10.4% per year) and Pakistan (+10.5% per year).
