In 2021, the South Asian secateurs market was finally on the rise to reach $X for the first time since 2014, thus ending a six-year declining trend. Moreover, Bangladesh emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Southern Asia, with a CAGR of +53.8% from 2012-2021. Afghanistan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. While the share of India (+15 p.p.), Bangladesh (+7.5 p.p.) and Nepal (+3.3 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Sri Lanka (-10.8 p.p.) and Afghanistan (-15.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, India ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported secateurs and similar one-handed pruners and shears in Southern Asia, comprising 76% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Afghanistan ($X), with an 8.2% share of total imports. It was followed by Bangladesh, with a 5.9% share.
