In 2022, the South Asian cotton table linen market increased by 97% to $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year declining trend. Bangladesh, with a CAGR of +11.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

The export price in Southern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 25% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +5.9%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 27%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was India ($X per ton), while Bangladesh ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, cotton table linen imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern.
