India was the largest exporting country with an export of around X tons, which resulted at 77% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Sri Lanka (X kg), creating a 23% share of total exports.
Exports from India increased at an average annual rate of +21.3% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Sri Lanka (+38.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Sri Lanka emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Southern Asia, with a CAGR of +38.2% from 2012-2022. While the share of Sri Lanka (+16 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of India (-10.8 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, India ($X) remains the largest titanium supplier in Southern Asia, comprising 79% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Sri Lanka ($X), with a 21% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in India amounted to +15.2%.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Southern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, shrinking by -23.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a noticeable decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 208% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, purchases abroad of titanium sponge, powders, ingots and slabs decreased by -23.4% to X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. In general, imports, however, showed resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 245% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2021, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, titanium imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw prominent growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 414%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2022, India (X tons) represented the largest importer of titanium sponge, powders, ingots and slabs in Southern Asia, constituting 100% of total import.
India was also the fastest-growing in terms of the titanium sponge, powders, ingots and slabs imports, with a CAGR of +15.9% from 2012 to 2022. While the share of India (+7.4 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
