Travel Set Market Size in Southern Asia

In 2021, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in the South Asian travel set market, when its value decreased by -8.8% to $X. The total consumption indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the last nine years. In terms of the main exporting countries, Bangladesh, with a CAGR of +90.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Southern Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, which is down by -25.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a pronounced shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 21%. From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Afghanistan (with a CAGR of +76.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.

In value terms, India ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported travel sets in Southern Asia, comprising 43% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Sri Lanka ($X), with an 18% share of total imports. It was followed by Afghanistan, with a 15% share.
