Video Monitor Market Size in Southern Asia

After two years of decline, the South Asian video monitor market increased by 8.1% to $X in 2021. The total consumption indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X. Exports from India increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Sri Lanka (+33.9%) and Pakistan (+5.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Sri Lanka emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Southern Asia, with a CAGR of +33.9% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Bangladesh (-16.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. India (+20 p.p.) and Sri Lanka (+3.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Bangladesh saw its share reduced by -24.3% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, India ($X) remains the largest video monitor supplier in Southern Asia, comprising 95% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Bangladesh ($X), with a 2.1% share of total exports. It was followed by Sri Lanka, with a 1.7% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in India totaled +1.1%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Bangladesh (-18.5% per year) and Sri Lanka (+16.4% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Southern Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, dropping by -5.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, enjoyed a slight increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 99%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

After two years of decline, purchases abroad of video monitors increased by 28% to X units in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a noticeable contraction. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, video monitor imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

India represented the largest importer of video monitors in Southern Asia, with the volume of imports amounting to X units, which was near 79% of total imports in 2021. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, India ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported video monitors in Southern Asia, comprising 84% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Bangladesh ($X), with a 10% share of total imports. It was followed by Sri Lanka, with a 2.5% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in India was relatively modest. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Bangladesh (+12.1% per year) and Sri Lanka (+1.8% per year).
