The biggest shipments were from India (X tons), together reaching 98% of total export.
India was also the fastest-growing in terms of the voiles, webs, mats and other articles of glass fibers exports, with a CAGR of +11.6% from 2012 to 2021. The shares of the largest exporters remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, India ($X) also remains the largest glass fiber supplier in Southern Asia.

Imports by Country
India was the key importing country with an import of about X tons, which reached 71% of total imports. Pakistan (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 16% share, followed by Bangladesh (7.4%). Sri Lanka (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to glass fiber imports into India stood at +8.7%. At the same time, Bangladesh (+16.7%), Pakistan (+11.1%) and Sri Lanka (+4.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Bangladesh emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Southern Asia, with a CAGR of +16.7% from 2012-2021. Bangladesh (+3.3 p.p.) and Pakistan (+2.3 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while India saw its share reduced by -3.3% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, India ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported voiles, webs, mats and other articles of glass fibers in Southern Asia, comprising 69% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Pakistan ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by Bangladesh, with an 8.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in India amounted to +7.9%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Pakistan (+11.8% per year) and Bangladesh (+23.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Southern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 3.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the import price increased by 4.9%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Bangladesh ($X per ton) and Pakistan ($X per ton), while Sri Lanka ($X per ton) and India ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bangladesh (+5.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
