Imports in Southern Asia
In 2021, overseas purchases of preservative-treated rough wood decreased by -62.8% to X cubic meters, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. In general, imports recorded a abrupt decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 87%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X cubic meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, preservative-treated rough wood imports dropped dramatically to $X in 2021. Overall, imports showed a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 59%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
