In Sri Lanka, exports of wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates expanded at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Pakistan (+26.7% per year) and India (+1.8% per year).

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 153% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X cubic meters. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, imports of wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 83% against the previous year. Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Southern Asia amounted to $X per cubic meter, falling by -13.2% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 75% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per cubic meter in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Pakistan ($X per cubic meter), while Nepal ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
