Morocco, Mauritania, Italy, Colombia, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 31%.

In terms of the main countries of destination, Saudi Arabia, with a CAGR of +16.3%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average apple export price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 16% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.3%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 20% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+6.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the amount of apples imported into Spain totaled X tons, almost unchanged from 2020 figures. Overall, imports, however, recorded a mild decrease. In 2021, Italy (X tons) constituted the largest apple supplier to Spain, with a 40% share of total imports. Moreover, apple imports from Italy exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, France (X tons), twofold. Portugal (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 19% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Italy amounted to +1.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (-7.6% per year) and Portugal (+11.0% per year).
In value terms, Italy ($X) constituted the largest supplier of apples to Spain, comprising 47% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by France ($X), with a 22% share of total imports. It was followed by Portugal, with a 9% share.
